On 3 December 2024, the European Commission has published the IF24 Call for proposals with €2.4 billion available for net-zero technologies. The call, funded by revenues from the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), aims to strengthen Europe’s manufacturing capacity, technological leadership, and supply chain resilience.

The IF24 Call supports decarbonisation projects of different scale and aims to strengthen industrial manufacturing capacity in energy intensive industries, renewable energy, energy storage, and carbon capture, use and storage.

Five European projects will help companies to apply for the Innovation Fund

The 2DPLOYDIAMONDS4IFH2IFLEADS and REALIZE projects will present innovative net-zero technologies developed as part of Horizon 2020/Europe projects to the new Innovation Fund. The multidisciplinary team of the five projects (funded under the topic HORIZON-CL5-2023-D2-01-07: ‘Support for the deployment of R&I results for climate mitigation. Synergies with the ETS Innovation Fund’) will prepare winning proposals, and support companies by meeting the programme’s criteria, i.e. the degree of innovation, greenhouse gas emission avoidance potential, project maturity, replicability, and cost efficiency.

Project promoters for the net-zero technologies call have until 24 April 2025, 17:00 (CET) to apply. The European Commission is organising an online info session on 17 December.
