RAAMS AS: provider of services and technological solutions within renewable energy.

Silicon-based photovoltaic solar cell technology (PV) was developed in the West, but the industrial ecosystem is presently in China, realised through massive subsidies from the Chinese government. PV is quickly becoming the world’s most important source of affordable green electricity, and the geopolitical situation has led to announcements of large subsidies for PV industries in USA, India, and Europe. PV is semiconductor technology and requires an ultra-pure and crystalline perfect silicon ingot and wafer. Ingot and wafer production has been identified as the weakest element of EUs PV industry plan.

RAAMS was established by a group of PV industry professionals with the purpose to support the emerging ingot and wafer industry outside of China. RAAMS has established a client base in Asia, Europe, and the US and has supported more than 14 GW of ingot and wafer projects across three continents. RAAMS is also engaged in equipment and technology development with focus on automation and safety for clients operating outside of China. Further, RAAMS has developed key consumable projects such as quartz crucible production for ingot and wafer customers. With the increased awareness related to energy security and focus on regional supply of key components in Europe and the US, the ingot and wafer development is key to reshoring supply chains.

Being a Norwegian company, RAAMS is particularly interested in bringing the wafer industry with its eco-system of suppliers back home to Europe.
